Dr. Jené led me through a progressive journey that taught me essential skills to be a great leader, such as humility, teamwork, patience, perseverance and most importantly faith. I completed my Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, where Dr. Jené served as my practicum supervisor. I was promoted to a Career Technology Instruction Coordinator, where I served for one year. I applied for a leadership position that required me to present to a panel “again”. I had come full circle; it was time for me to showcase all that Dr. Jené had taught me. I called her for a few pointers before the interview. She put everything aside and met with me on a Saturday and coach me through my presentation. Needless to say the presentation went extremely well, and as a top finalist, it afforded me an interview with our district superintendent. I then began my progressive climb in leadership. I served as an Administrative Intern for one year and was then promoted to my current position as an Assistant Principal of Instruction. What is so empowering about Dr. Jené is that her anointing has transformed my professional and spiritual walk.
